    These won't twist the pins off of the badge. I use the speed nuts on the rear engine lid letters but not on an original hood badge because they easily can pop the pins off. If that happens I've found JB Weld to work the best to reattach them. The clip you see in the photo comes in different sizes and I buy them locally from a hardware supply store. If you use the speed nut and it won't reach the end of the pin cut away they black sealer with a razor blade flush to the bottom of speed nut.

    I just checked PET -- you're right. I had spares from my 71 (999-591-423-03) and the correct part is 999-591-211-01 for the SWB cars.

    Here is a photo. I will order the proper tapping nuts.
