    Gas Lid Latch Spring

    Just wanted to check....

I know there is a spring on the Gas Tank lid/door itself. But is there a spring inside the latch itself? Parts diagram doesn't show one, but some online posts indicate there might be one. If not, how does the Latch return to its position after you pull it to open the door? or do you manually push back the pull cable ?

And woe be to those who remove that spring during restoration and then must re-install it as part of the release/catch unit.

to "Richy" and Jim Morris", i enthusiastically agree.

MAKE SURE THAT LATCH ASSEMBLY IS FUNCTIONAL AND INTACT BEFORE INSTALLING THE FENDER!!!! Otherwise, you are in for a LOT of pain.
