    Sticky about Stickers

I have a friend putting some finishing touches on his extraordinary recently acquired 911S (late VIN). He’s meticulous about originality and correctness and has asked me (he’s not an internet guy) to check on the correct stickers and positions of the stickers in his engine bay. I’ve done some searching and they appear be all over place, even on supposedly original cars.

    Anyone care to weigh in?

    Thanks,

I guess it may depend on year, but here are a few examples:

This is my 69S which I believe is mostly original paint. Yes, I know the grill and license plate panel are incorrect😕

67S would have 6 red-bordered stickers, applied left to right in the order shown in your first photo, and repeated in Davep's first photo above. This has been confirmed several times by concours judges who examined my 67S SWT. Nevertheless, expect to hear disagreement by someone who has an "original," "never repainted" car upon which the stickers are different in number and placement.

Well, sure enough I just heard from an expert whom I consider to be beyond my experts and the several judges who have examined my 67S. He, and his agreeing experts and judges aver that there should be 5 red bordered stickers, with the left-most embossment vacant. If I still had that car, I would tear off that left most sticker, but alas, I don't.
