    Recaro seat fitting

    Hi,

I have a 1973 911 ROW and I have just fitted lightweight RS seat mounts to my Recaro Ideasitz.

The issue is, the seats are quite high and I cant lower them anymore as the runners that bolt to the mounts foul on the seat rail supports either side. My car has support rails with grooves in that point diagonal inwards on both sides.

Do I need to replace these with pre 73 rail supports like the picture below or cut the runners that have 4 holes down to size so they fit lower?

    Thanks for looking.

    Mike

    Cheers Dirk,

Can the inner rail supports (next to the handbrake) be removed or are they welded to the center tunnel?

The inner rail supports are welded to the tunnel. Looks like all you have to do is cut the corner of the vertical adjustment bracket. ?

Most Recaro seat brackets you find used have already had those tabs shortened by a previous install job. That is the solution.

Thanks for all your advice. I was trying to avoid cutting anything but looks like I might have to.
