I would think it is printed somewhere on the outside.
911.635.101.00 – high tone 735 Hz – Bosch number 0 321 023 020
911.635.102.00 – low tone 630 Hz – Bosch number 0 321 023 019
017 low
018 high
019 low
020 high
does that make sense ?
thanks Hugh,
much appreciated !

What do you need for the stritone horns for the later 73's in terms of info or are you all sorted now?

I would like photos for publication either on or off of car (preferably on). This is thought to be a chronological change but many later 1973 cars have the Bosch ones. Build date of car will help.

Posts in this thread state "Fanfare horn 1970-1973 model years, both horns are on the left side."
This is not the case with my car.
I own a 1970 911S, VIN 9110300986. Unsure of build date, but #986 puts it about halfway through the 1970 production run, so it is not an early car. It has been in California all its life, first sold new in Los Angeles.
It does not have twin horns on the left battery box. There is absolutely no provision for the twin horns - no brackets, holes or anything else - no wiring, etc. Nothing that would indicate the horns were ever there.
Instead, my car has the 'snail' horns, one on each side of the car, at the front edge of each front wheel well. Both horns are like the one in the photos posted by JT912, labeled #65. The brackets, wiring, etc. on both horns all appear to be completely original, so I can only conclude that the twin 911.635.101.00 and 911.635.102.00 horns were NOT installed on all 1970 cars.
Hope this doesn’t muddy the waters too much, just hope it adds a bit to the knowledge base. - for what it’s worth.
