    Cleaning throttle bodies

I have a little corrosion inside the throttle bodies on my 69s. Before I put them back on the engine I would like to smooth it out. Looking for suggestions. I can lightly blast them with walnut shells or glass beads, but I worry about the media getting into the shafts and causing wear. I’m sure the best option would include removing the shafts, but I’d rather not do that if at all possible. I’ve seen what can happen when a screw comes out of the throttle plate, it’s not pretty, and I’d rather not open that can of worms. Ideas?

Plastic media works well and it won't cause wear . And I agree , if the shaft bushings are not worn , best to not remove the shafts - new screws are not easily available .
