Different holes pattern between 'flag' and Durant mirrors?

    Dear Registry members,
I've been doing some research on this forum but can't find a clear answer...
My 71E currently has flag mirrors; I just ordered Durant mirrors (OEM Porsche) but the space between the 2 studs appear to be different than the flag ones ... No way I'll drill another hole in my door!
Is this space different between 'small' and 'large' Durants? Would love to hear from you ...

    Thx,
    Olivier

Both Durant mirrors have the same mounting.

It's OK, you can have someone else drill it.

The Durant mirrors should mount the same as the small/large flag ones ('72-'75). Be sure the Durant mirror you bought is not a repro it should have the one stud that is adjustable and slides.

Seems some doors have 40mm between the mounting holes and others ca 49mm. Which years had which pattern?

And the follow up question is, is there a flag mirror that fits the wider hole distance?

I need to replace the mirror on my car and am suspecting the door is from a different year car

Late production 71’s had flag mirror and flat 6’s. What’s your production date or Vin.

Mine is a 1970 model and I believe it was produced in august. So a Durant mirror should be what it came with (?)

ojtp356 suggests in his original post, that his flag should be a Durant, maybe not. Need him to post production of vin to date the car.
