    OK-OK --- I kinda pussed-out @The Phoenix Show, sooooooooooooooooooo . . . .

'. . . This is an original/unconverted German-market car built for 'factory use.' It was subsequently transferred to Porsche's 'Versuch' (Test) department, then sold to Jo Siffert --- one of their 917 drivers . . . in April '71. After Mr Siffert's death at Brands Hatch, in Oct '71, the car was purchased by a dealer at auction, re-sold . . . then disappeared for over 40 years. (Took me two more just to find out what it was!)

Anyway, Kardex says that the car came with electric windows (still there), limited slip differential (ditto), rear wiper (nope), and a fancy-schmancy radio-cum-power-antenna (are you kidding?). I've added a period Scheel seat + light-weight sliders, Momo Le Mans steering wheel, factory aluminum engine cover + factory 100l 'touring' tank . . . plus a vintage 'Nürburgring' motorcycle badge.

Car's been wrecked, rusted, repaired, and re-painted . . . but never restored. Original bits + finishes inside, out, and under. All vintage, too --- even the heat exchangers + muffler . . .

    Zovig says she'll go, too, so . . .

    Car Display Submission

We will be featuring a select group of cars representing the diverse eras and genres of air-cooled Porsches for display in a few curated areas within our venue, so we're seeking submissions of cars for consideration for our event. If your car is selected, we ask that you arrive at 7:45am and stay until 2:00pm due to venue logistics.

If your car isn't selected for display in the curated area, there's plenty of room for you to participate by parking elsewhere inside the venue. Those spaces will be available on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 9:00am.

Deadline for submissions is April 1, 2016

Thank you Patrick and Howie for throwing down N° 3.
It will be interesting to see who drives the longest distance to this show in a bonafide Porsche racecar.
    Bruce's 935 at the last event (driven through L.A. + B.H.) was off the chain ¡ !¡

    Woo-hoo! . . .

'. . . Greetings, and many thanks for your interest in participating at this weekend's Luftgekühlt event by displaying your car. Good news - you made the show!

We've been blown away by the response expressed to us, and we're working out a load plan for how to park everyone up as smoothly as possible. The Modernica venue is a really good one, full of many different types of spaces. As has been our tradition, we segment the cars that are participating in our events by a whole range of factors, to showcase the diversity of cars, but also to maximize the visual impact and cool factor for all our attendees strolling the venue.

All of which is a long way of saying... trust us. We know the venue well, and will be looking to get everyone in and out of the event smoothly. We'll be back to you Thursday with your 'call time' for when we'd like you to arrive for check-in, our car/driver photo production line and guided parking.

This will be our biggest event yet, by size of venue and number of cars on display and to prepare for that we've got a sizable event staff locked and loaded to pull the whole day off smoothly. The enthusiasm that everyone displays is infectious and we appreciate it - but it means we end up fielding a ton of questions and special requests, and regrettably we can't accommodate all of them. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

    See you soon!

Last year a lot of people didn't show due to weather concerns and the day, including weather turned out perfect. I'm planning on a repeat...
