Curt, I'd love to read your white paper. I've been racing and restoring Porsche 914-6, 930's and other cars since the late 70's and I had these cars sort of figured as SC's with sticker kits. I've been surprised to see how many things were put on these cars as early as they were. As I stated previously, I've seen a lot of long hood cars get turned into short hood race cars, 930's stolen and recovered and then turned into narrow body race cars and Carrera's recovered to be quickly made into race cars. There are supposed to be 500+ coupes made but between wrecks, rust and racing, I would bet there are less than 250 of them left.
As to the duck tail, it was a long road. I purchased a really badly smashed 74 US duck from Parts Heaven (Hayward, CA) to try to revive it, then I found an aluminum deck ducktail in England that came from a 73 RS and had it shipped here, then I found a cherry 74 US duck through a contact here in CA. I sold the smashed one and the RS ducks to free up cash for the greater project. I also bought a reproduction duck from a guy in England and had it shipped here because it looks exactly like a real one inside and out. I was considering painting it with the real one and running it on the car (hedge for bad bay area drivers) but I decided against that. I'm planning to sell it. If you are interested in that one, message me and I'll send pics.
The sheel seats have been sold to a BMW guy here in CA.
