Hi,
Has anybody got the Porsche service bulletin / information to retro-fit the stock / factory 15mm rear stabiliser / sway bar to an early (1971) 911.
I require the dimensional details to correctly locate the bracket to the body and the pin bolts to the trailling arms / bannana bars.
If anybody has done this before I would appreciate any information / pictures.

Is there a trick with getting the stabiliser bar bushes into the drop links? I tried a vice but this method damages the bush.

Try heating the bushings in boiling water and lubricating the ball on the trailing arm. This has worked for me.

The 'D' shaped bush that goes on the end of the sway bar should just push onto the end of the bar, the other 'D' shaped bush that fits into the bracket that bolts to the body mount must be slit longitudinally so that it can be pushed over the bar. Are these aftermarket or OEM bushes your using? Also do you have the bush I.D. that matches the bar O.D.? When i install the 'D' shaped bush onto the drop link I apply liberal amount of clear silicone paste, clamp the link and the bush into a vice and slowly close the vice jaws while using a plastic spatula to get the bushing lip pushed into the link. Once the bushing is started it will push right through the 'D' shaped link, then use the plastic spatula to help pull the lip out the other side.
I have bought the bushes from Stoddard. They are not OEM but are Stoddard repo - orange / light brown colour. They maybe a little harder than the OEM black bushes. Does heating them up in boiling water assist as somebody else has posted?
Don't know about the boiling water, never tried that, only the method I described. Try both and see how it goes. I've used the aftermarket types as you have there now, a little harder than OEM, but certainly doable.
Ed, as kids we used to curve our hockey stick blades in boiling water (better for lifting the puck) it should also work on plastic bushings. The only issue I see is the time it will take you to run from the stove to the garage, press them into the drop link and on to the ball stud before they cool:)
Ahhhh, but you don't need to be FAST! Once the plastic bush is in the drop link you can easily pop it on the ball stud by using a long flat blade lever that you stick in the allen head bolt of the camber adjuster and then with the other end of the lever push the plastic bush right on the ball. Anchoring the end of the lever in the allen bolt end provides the pivot from which to pry.
