seeking information on proper '68 carpet configuration

Scholars,

I'm seeking help to know precisely how the front interior carpets are to lay in my '68 (11880001).

Do the carpet pieces along the longitudinals lay OVER the floor carpet (with the floor carpet underneath)?

Or do the floor carpets lay over the longitudinal carpets?

(I've tried to show both in the photos.)
