Noticed on test of pulley outer nut etc that the outside nut did not leave any threads showing .
Believe the 6.5mm behind the fan may be the issue ?
Thought I saw another post where 4.5 ? Was correct if issue ?

Make sure you have the correct fan housing for the alternator. The depth of the alternator mount flange is different depending on the size of the alternator.
It’s common for fine thread Motorola alternators to be that way. Make sure belt is aligned with crank pulley and tension is good and don’t sweat it. I think this what you’re referring too.
