All Buttoned Up for Winter and On to My Winter Project …
Sadly, today I finally put “Chester”, our 1968 911L into winter storage. Putting the car away is always a sad day, but I’m thrilled we got decent weather to be able to drive all the way unto December, which is a rarity here in Chicago. I pulled the battery and popped it on a CTEK charger to keep to fresh all winter. And my winter project will be getting my seats re-stuffed so I pulled them and am dropping them off next week to knock that out.
Anyway, pulling Chester back out of storage is at last something to look forward in the Spring - or at least whenever all the snow melts 🙂

Next step, restufflng the seats …
Having fully prepped Chester for a long winter’s rest, I pulled the seats out today to send them out to be re-stuffed. While the original upholstery and hardware are in great shape, the seats are pretty squished down, particularly on the driver’s side, so I’m dropping them off tomorrow to get fixed up this winter. I’m already looking forward to getting back on the road in the Spring to put more miles on Chester, so this may be a long winter ….

Looking for Seat Cushion Recommendations …
Gents,
Having gotten a late start on this winter project, I’m hoping to dip into the collective wisdom here to get your suggestions for the best options for seat cushions. It turns out that the seat springs are pretty much toast on both seats so I plan to buy new OEM seat springs for both seats, but I’m looking for your best suggestions for cushions. All of the hardware and seat covers are in great shape so all I need is some guidance on best options for the seat cushions.
What do you guys suggest? Who makes the best replacement cushions and what do you think my options are? Thanks as always for your help for this final step to be ready to drive the wheels off Chester once the snow melts here in Chicago!
