"Early" transmission mount options

I recently yanked the motor and transmission out of my '68. Among other petrified rubber parts, the trans mount donuts seem like they need to be replaced. I stuck a screwdriver down the metal bushing hole in each rubber mount, and I'm able to wiggle the bushing side to side pretty well in the rubber, and also the rubber is a bit aged and cracked.

I did some internet research and it seems the Wevo "black pillow" option is the only one for 71 and down cars? It does seem like a quality product.

However, I don't want to end up with a gear whiny, noisy beast because I put poly in my front trans mounts. Maybe I am worried about nothing and it will be fine.

Are there any other options besides the Wevo? Does anyone offer rubber replacements?

Any input appreciated, and maybe we can help someone else searching on this for the future.

I have now lived with the WEVO black pillow mounts on some road trips and I do detect some gear noise. It is not as quiet as a stock rubber mount.

Thanks Bert, I actually did see that link before. I was just looking for "more" info I guess, I thought there would be more discussion on this issue here....does everyone just use the WEVO ones? It seems there would be a market for rubber ones....maybe I will contact Will at CSP about it.

Mike,

I had the wevo mod done for my 71 t. It is a big improvement but I have noticed some gear noise that wasn't there before. By the way I had the blue inserts vice the softer black. I like them.

Thanks for the feedback. I decided to put the OEM rubber mount back into my '68, they are in good shape.
