Wasn't there a 89X66x6 = 2463.58 (2.5) engine? I'm guessing when this thread refers to short stroke, that is what they are referring to.
The reason Porsche went to 89X66 crank is because the 86.7X70.4 crank made the fly bolts come loose. But this a racing environment. This is spelled out in Paul Frere's book PORSCHE 911 STORY. page 143. this problem never came up with 66mm cranks
