Remove some undercoat and look signs of welding. I doubt they could be rolled that far. Remove the driver floorboard and look at the pedal cluster, bet you find some brake fluid there. Looks like he installed an oil cooler in the right rear wheel well.
I've attached some pics of the heat exchanger. Attachment 272678Attachment 272679Attachment 272680Attachment 272681Attachment 272682
Saturday was fairly dry and so I took the Targa for a spin. I was thinking, OK, how much different could this car drive from the coupe? With thoughts of my mother's 71 Squareback, mittens, scarf & ice scraper for the inside windshield in my thoughts, I started her up and put it into gear. "Wow" would be an understatement. The Webasto heater cranked out a lot of heat (10,000 BTU's according to the owners manual). The shift action was firmer, the suspension, much tighter. Brakes, were...meh... they need work. There's two very distinct differences between the two. The Coupe is much more refined, whereas the Targa is dialed in to go fast right out of the gate. The sound is just that much more in your face, the complete ansa exhaust the likely contributor. The coupe would be a great casual driver where the Targa...hmmm, the Targa I can see as my daily driver well into the Fall Season.
