I have just bought some 5.5" Group 4 TTs for my sons VW and they weigh just under 16 pounds.
The 5.5" are on sale at the moment. Quite like the look of them too.

Quick update. Finally got help over at American Racing. As it turns out, the new Torq Thrust wheels from American will not fit over early S brakes. Bummer.
I found one AR Torq Thrust D Wheel in excellent original condition. It had been in dry dark storage for over 45 years. I rubbed in a coat of Gibbs as a preservative.
15x6 size. A real magnesium wheel that weighs only 12.6 lbs.
Attachment 603351Attachment 603351 will try Gibbs on the one with corrosion
Attachment 603352. Oops meant this pic
I recently received my set of five NOS (yes, never been used) second gen 15x6 magnesium GTP wheels and I have a couple questions. First, what are y'all using for lug nuts? second, are tubes required with these wheels, or can I find valve stems that will seal correctly?
thanks!
Not sure if these nuts fit the magnesium rims - shown on the aluminium. I had some nuts machined for my ali.
