Pulled this vidcap from a really cool documentary on Road America at Elkhart Lake. Anybody have info on this transporter? Looks like some sort of modified VW bus

Oh, here's the vid (hat tip to Scott Hansen for finding it):

Looks like someone was inspired by the Mercedes Renntransporter and made a closed VW version. Very cool looking, and only 4 years after the Mercedes rig. I wonder if it still exists?
That video was a real period piece with some great cars. The narrator was a riot, very Jack Webb....."Think it looks easy? TRY IT!" :D
Cool... a fifth-wheel VW hauler sure is different! Wonder if it was VW powered, and what happened to it?
Interesting to see Elkhart without safety structures of any kind from in-car, and spotting now famous cars & drivers.
The Onan mini commercial was kinda fun too. Great vid, thanks for sharing.
Great video Curt....... Thanks
Some men like "The feel of a gun on a frosty morning". I was just thinking that!
Awesome video. Thanks for posting.
Russ: I'm confident that Type 2 hauler was scrapped right after it burned to the ground while towing that trailer back to wherever it came from. Cool in concept only.
