Hi All,
The fuchs wheel made of forged aluminium was and still is an impressive work of art. The fuchs company was able to make much lighter and stronger wheels using forged aluminium in stead of casting techniques. I recently looked at a just restored 4,5 wheel and I noticed a variety I did not see in later wheels. As I understand the wheels are shaped like this under high pressure using some kind of press. Attached you see the wheel and the red arrows indicatie the area which is different compared to later wheels. Is this already known? Or is my wheel fake? Does anybody know if the company changed the shape of the innerside? The wheel in the picture has no numbers on them but before the restoration there were remains of red ink present.
The first 4 pictures are the restored 4,5 wheel.
Picture 5 and 6 is a 68 deep six wheel.
And picture 7 is a picture I found on the internet showing two 4,5 wheels. One with the red arrow has a straight ‘bridge’ the other one is more round shaped.
I hope de fuchs experts in this forum will help me with this. Any reaction is much appreciated.Attachment 583448Attachment 583449Attachment 583450Attachment 583451Attachment 583452Attachment 583453Attachment 583454
